Mission Brief

The Sportsyear app has had a strong uptake in the hospitality market as it helps venues to plan which sports events they will be promoting and showing live on their big screens by giving them the ability to quickly and easily create their own custom sports calendar.

Work with Raine & Makin to develop a unique Sportsyear calendar widget that displays a venue’s custom sports calendar so it can be dropped into their website and is accessible across all desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

Objectives

• Develop a responsive widget according to designs
• Enable a user to dynamically browse through the calendar in multiple ways and view the line up for a particular date in the future
• Provide the ability to filter the sports calendar by player, team, sport or featured only
• Use the Sportsyear API to retrieve the custom sports calendar data created in the app to display in the widget
• Allow the widget to be customised with a different colour theme
• Provide reliable & fast hosting with a comprehensive backup solution

Results

The new Sportsyear widget launched in May 2018 and was quickly added to many venue websites and has become a core Sportsyear offering for the hospitality market.
